摘    要:
提出了一种在MRWD方法基础上结合指纹方向图的指纹压缩算法。首先将指纹图像按纹理信息进行分块,然后对指纹图像中不同的方向图块采用不同的结构元素来实现各子带重要系数的膨胀操作以对其进行检测、提取和编码。该方法除了具有EZW的优点外,有效地提高了MRWD方法在处理指纹图像时的性能。实验结果证实了该方法的有效性,而且其性能可与最新的有损压缩算法JPEG2000相媲美。

Abstract:
This paper proposes a fingerprint compression algorithm which is based on directional image and Servetto 's morphological representation of wavelet data(MRWD).At first divide fingerprint image into several blocks according to their directions,and then using different structuring element for morphological dilation according to different directional blocks to extract and encode the clustered significant coefficient in the different subbands from low frequency to high frequency.The proposed algorithm not only has some good properties such as EZW encoder,but also overcomes some de-ficiencies in MRWD algorithm in encoding the fingerprint.Experiment results show the superior performance of the new algorithm comparable to that of MRWD and SPIHT algorithm in PSNR.And it provides the performance comparable to that of JPEG2000compression algorithm.
