| Abstract: | The exact formal solution for an electric dipole over a planar stratified medium is evaluated in the asymptotic limit. Special attention is given to the situation where one of the strata is an effective insulator. In this case, a waveguide type of propagation is possible which, in some cases, may be significant. |
