| Abstract: | This essay offers a brief overview and evolution process of Singapore＇s HDB system and explains its core feature as a system that has highly integrated multi-layered and multi-faceted issues such as politics,economy,national governance,welfare, racial differencl,environment as well as planning and design.A review of the evolution of the HDB in the past five decades,the essay offers an analysis of the main concepts adopted in the physical planning and design of the HDB in order to realise its comprehensive set of objectives. |
