Automatic Recovery from Faults an Integrated Services Ring

Optical fiber integrated services local networks are rapidly growing in the recent years and mostof them are ring topology.The reliability of the ring networks,however,is a major problem to be solveddue to their serial operation.This paper studied the automatic recovery from faults in an integrated services(computer data,digital voice,FAX and conference TV)ring with 34Mb/s data rate,The focus of it lieson how to detect,locate and isolate the faults automatically.To adapt the hybrid switching technologyused in ISR,dichomizing search is introduced to locate the faults.
