The Extension Project of Yantan Hydropower Station is constructed based on the phase-I project, which can make full use of the reserved construction land, the construction workshops and the production and living build- ings of the phase-I project. The extension project adopts an underground powerhouse, whose excavation is a critical path, which directly influences the progress of the whole project. A reasonable arrangement of construction adits for underground caverns is the key point to shorten construction period and produce economic benefit.
