Research Progress of Diatomite Used in Dye Wastewater Treatment

The dye wastewater is urgent to be solved in the field of industrial wastewater due to its characteristcs of high organics and chroma, difficult degradation and high toxity.In recent years, diatomite, which is abundant in the world, becomes a common material used in the treatment of wastewater with properties of cheap,easily gain,high porosity, high specific surface area and stability. Diatomite is used in treatment of wastewater as adsorbent, catalyst and microbil carrier.Many studies have found that diatomite has the advantages such as effectivity, no pollution for wastewater treatment, which indicates that diatomite has the potential used in the treatment of dye wastewater.
