Inversion in magneto-optical effects |

| Abstract: | Magnetically induced birefringence and dichroism in certain colloidal suspensions exhibit inversion in sign of the effect. The paper discusses various mechanisms which may give rise to such effects. Methods are suggested to trace origin of such inversions. Certain theoretical and experimental results are also discussed. |
