Research on Action Characteristic of Long Gap Triggered Vacuum Switch

In this paper, some experimental results about action characteristic of long gap triggered are presented,including working process, triggering reliability, time-delay of triggering and shaky time. The experimental results indicate that the high triggering reliability can be gained using the trigger circuit based on high voltage-small current first and low voltage-large current subsequently. The long gap TVS has higher working voltage and good action characteristic. It is beneficial to the developmental research of high power pulse technology.
