语篇联结词语在大学英语阅读理解中的运用

摘    要:影响读者对一篇文章的理解的因素是多方面。其中主要包括读者的基本语言知识、读者对作者在文章中所表达的思想内容之认识的深度和广度 ,以及读者本人对社会生活各方面的信仰和价值观等各种图式知识。主要讨论英语语言图式知识中语篇联结词语在帮助学生理解大学英语文章过程中所起到的作用。注意到了这一图式知识在辅助阅读理解中的作用的局限性。指出了在鼓励学生进行泛读、通过阅读扩大知识面和词汇量、培养学生各种阅读技能和逻辑分析能力的基础上帮助学生认识到语篇联结词在阅读中的重要性

Abstract:Many studies have shown that the factors affecting reading comprehension are manifold. They include the reader's general knowledge schema and language schemata by which readers combine their own background knowledge and their language knowledge with the information in a text to comprehend that text. This paper summarizes some of the research into the types of cohesive and coherent phrases which comprise an essential part of a reader's language schemata and proposes that schema of this kind can be applied as a means to facilitate ESL reading.The authors also highlight some of the limitations of the use of this language schema-theoretic approach and point out the importance of developing the learner's vocabulary and general reading skills,of cultivating the learner's analytical ability,and of encouraging extensive reading.
