Structural invertibility of transfer functions

In this note, we study certain properties of a transfer function in terms of the structure of the state-space representation (A, B, C). Specifically, the rank of the transfer function and the degree of a decoupled system (which can be obtained by applying a left decoupler) are characterized in terms of the structure of (A, B, C).
