Applying The Technique of Logging While Drilling to Improve Developing Effects of Horizontal Wells

Horizontal wells have been the significant means for exploring and developing an oilfield; however, how to make sure well trajectory is controlled at the optimum position in reservoirs is still the key to improve developing effects. This paper presents briefly the technique of logging while drilling and its works in horizontal wells. The advantages and usages are detailed with its field applications in two wells. The technique is conducive to improve ROP, reduce drilling costs, increase production of an individual well and recovery efficiency, and thus further perfects the horizontal well technology. This new technique has broad application prospects.
