Abstract:The influence of no-load switching overvoltage for high voltage transmission line is analyzed in this paper.The equivalent distribution parameter model is established.By using EMTP/ATP,switching overvoltage is simulated in 500kV transmission line.Results show that the over-voltage can be limited effectively and over-voltage duration time can be shorten with a reasonable parallel reactor installed at the terminal of each line and a switching resistance mounted in the breaker under the three phases asynchronous switching condition.The results provide reference in electrical power system operation.
