The author explains the working principle of the regenerative burner applied in aluminum melting furnaces. The author points out an average of 50% of increase in heat utilization efficiency can be achieved by adopting such kind regenerative burners. The other major advantage of this burner is that it can well solve the problem of adhesion of high-temperature, furnace-exhaust dust and its resultant penetrative corrosion by comparison with other heat recovery method.
