According to the brief introduction of the local traditional residence by several famous architects, the paper describes the transition of the research methods from structuralism , typology, and then to phenomenology. At the same time, it also proposes the necessarily to borrow from the relative fruits in the humanities and social science, which provides some references to the domestic residential researches.
