Two transitions and two crises in youth: A response to P. S. Fry's "Changes in youth's attitudes toward authority."

In a critical discussion of P. S. Fry's (1976) studies, a discussion of psychoanalytic theory's failure to account for the increase of negative attitudes toward authority during the early phase of the identity process is presented.
