| Abstract: | The backscattering and inverse backscattering of time domain electromagnetic pulse by stratified homogeneous half space plasma is studied. Analytic solutions are obtained for a parabolic plasma density distribution. Time-frequency analysis is used to inverse the plasma density profile. Based on these solutions, it is suggested to sound the ionosphere with a time domain pulse. Its possibility and advantages are discussed. |
