Computer Aided 3D Modular Fixture Configuration Design System with Intelligence

Nowadays, production with large variety and small batch has become a main style. More flexible modular fixtures, which can be disassembled after processing a batch of parts and reused for new parts, are largely used in industry. Introducing CAD and artificial intelligence technology into modular fixture design can improve production efficiency, lighten working intensity, reduce manufacturing lead-time and marketing time. This paper firstly introduces the development of computer aided modular fixture design, and then presents the architecture of intelligent computer aided modular fixture design system developed by authors. The intelligence module in system is mainly described.
