Linear quadratic regulators with eigenvalue placement in a horizontal strip

Abstract:A method for optimally shifting the imaginary parts of the open-loop poles of a multivariable control system to the desirable closed-loop locations is presented. The optimal solution with respect to a quadratic performance index is obtained by solving a linear matrix Lyapunov equation.
