一种改进的H.264运动估计算法

为了减少视频编码的运算量，针对运动估计的特点．提出了快速块模式选择算法。该算法利用宏块的时间和空间相关性，预先对宏块模式进行判定，从而使模式选择过程大大简化。仿真结果显示，在基本保持H．264原有编码算法的图像质量的同时，可以将编码速度提高15％以上。因此，本算法可以有效的减少编码器的计算量，提高H．264的编码效率。

Novel Approach to Motion Estimation for H.264 Video Coding

In order to reduce the computation of motion estimation in H. 264 encoder, a fast mode decision algorithm based on the characteristics of motion estimation is proposed. The possible modes are judged by spacial and temporal correlation and the procedure of mode decision is simplified. The emulational results show that the algorithm can increase the encoding speed by more than 15% at least with little degradation in rate-distortion performance. So the algorithm can reduce the computation of H. 264 encoder efficiently and improve the encoding efficiency of H. 264.
