| Abstract: | In this paper, the up to date research progress of NGN architecture in some international standard organizations were introduced, and some possible evolution roadmap of next generation network was discussed, from softswitch to IMS, is the road of network to convergence. We gave some emphasis to the structure and function entities of the IP multimedia subsystem. |
