Abstract: | In this work we present a new reliable analytical evaluation of the oxygen sag equation for second-order biochemical oxygen demand reaction. A single series expansion relation is derived for dissolved oxygen sag equation in terms of binomial coefficients. The convergence of the series is tested by the concrete cases of parameters. The formulas obtained are numerically stable for k3L0t<1. Numerical results are presented, and compared with results using alternative evaluation schemes. |
