摘    要:随着多媒体和网络的发展,人们对图像质量和图像功能的要求越来越高,这要求图像压缩技术不仅具有较高的压缩性能,且还应具有新的特征。为此,出现了新一代静止图像压缩技术JPEG2000,有可能成为未来新的图像压缩标准。通过对JPEG2000中核心算法(EBCOT)的详细分析,阐述了JPEG2000压缩技术新的特征以及与现有压缩格式JPEG相比的优越性能。

Abstract:With the development of the network and multimedia technologies, people need more and more images with high function and quantity, so the compressive image techniques require higher performance as well as new characteristics to satisfy some special use. For this, ISO released again a new static image compress technique- JPEG2000, which may become the new image compression standard in the future. Through analyzing the core algorithm (EBCOT)in the JPEG2000, this paper expatiates on the new features and the advantages of the JPEG2000 over the previous standards, such as JPEG.
