New Starting Point and New Development——Review and Forecast of Comprehensive Development and Construction of Huangpu River Banks

The paper reviews the achievement of comprehensive development and construction of Huangpu River Banks briefly for recent ten years such as adjusting industrial structure along the river, exerting integrated land benefits, the improvements of urban facilities, traffic conditions and urban preservation etc. It argues that how we take advantages from advanced concept of the EXPO 2010, and displays the after-Expo effects properly. Moreover it emphasizes on commonality, affiliation, cultural connotation and industrial transformation and development. It also discusses ways to upgrade urban function, and to bring the leading and instructive effect of Huangpu River Banks Area into Shanghai’s new development.
