A brief introduction was given to the principle of using spectrometer to analyze composition of cast irons,the system configuration of the spectrometer in common use and its applicable situations.The establishing method of standard curves used for spectrometer and the solving method of the ordinary problems was described in detail.It’s pointed out that the key to use the spectrometer correctly is the establishment of the standard curve,however,the ordinary standardization works also don’t to be neglected.
