Abstract: | ![]() An experimental challenge trial was performed according to the guidelines recommended by the National Mastitis Council (NMC). A 0.1% iodine teat dip (Quartermate with I-Tech) was examined. This product gave an 87.9% reduction of new intramammary infections with Staphylococcus aureus and a 66.5% reduction for Streptococcus agalactiae compared with a negative control.
