Abstract: | ![]() Differentiation commitment events are essential for the initiation of hemopoiesis and, in one form or another, occur continuously during adult hemopoiesis. The most studied type of differentiation commitment decision a hemopoietic cell can make involves the alternative choice of self-renewal versus the formation of progeny destined for maturation. Aberration in this commitment choice is a key abnormality necessary for the formation of a leukemic population. |
