Abstract: | The electrical conduction of solution-grown polystyrene films of thickness about 15 μm was investigated in the field and temperature ranges of about 6 × 105 to 3 × 107 V m?1 and 300–400 K respectively. The results show that the Poole-Frenkel (PF) mechanism as modified by Jonscher and Ansari is the dominant mechanism in the present case. The modified PF barrier is calculated to be about 1.94 × 10?19 J (1.21 eV). |
