Psychologists and societal concerns.

Analyzed the session topics of the American Psychological Association (APA) convention from the 1950s to the 1970s. Topics generally addressed scientific and professional matters, although there was a trend from almost exclusive focus on nonsocietal topics in the 1950s to a greater concern for societal problems in the 1970s. Even with this increased responsiveness to societal issues, the predominant interest of APA members is defined in scientific and professional terms.
