The UK Climate Change Risk Assessment

The UK government is in the process of undertaking a major assessment of the risks posed by climate change.This will inform the development of a programme of adaptation with the aims of providing clear leadership in the way the UK responds to a changing climate and also of building adaptive capacity across all walks of life in the UK.This paper briefly describes the process of risk assessment using the results for the water supply-demand balance as example.The result shows that the water demand increases as the temperature rises.Therefore,measures to conserve water and improve water use efficiency are likely to be required.
