Abstract:
The present paper investigates the real solutions of the partial differential equations (∂2ω/∂u2) − (∂2ω/∂ν2) = sin ω (Enneper or sine-Gordon equation) that are of the FORM = F(|1(u) · |2(ν)). In the application of the Enneper equations to crystal physics such solutions may represent standing waves. A complete classification of these solutions and its degenerate cases is given.
