Design of the Special-purpose Machine Tool for Rolling Shaping Process

Rolling Shaping Process (RSP) is a new method in producing functional parts, especially in metallic parts. In RSP, the main body of the part is rolled up by one or more strips. The strip is called Roll Laminated Strip (RLS). The key problem of RSP is the forming and rolling of RLS. This paper discusses the design of RLS's forming, rolling equipment, the incorporate machine tool and its control system. Finally it gives examples of RSP application.
