| Abstract: | The paper begins with briefly mentioning the use of packet switching in the new generation telecommunication network.then, it describes in detail the application of optical packet switching (OPS) in the forthcoming optical communication network, including the node architecture, packet format, input and output interfaces, and some especially important technologies, such as regeneration, synchronization, header processing, optical buffer, space switching, and wavelength conversion. |
