Abstract: | The present author comments that as far as psychology doing anything for society is concerned, the most significant article to appear this decade, in my estimation, is Campbell's "Reforms as Experiments" (see record 1969-17253-001). The implications it has for social reforms are staggering-especially for America, the country that has (a) more resources for reform than most of the world put together and also (b) a colossal inability to solve most of its social problems. The big question, then, is how long this expensive form of fumbling with lives and material resources will continue. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved) |
