| Abstract: | Bromination of a series of aromatic compounds is carried out by means of bromine in chlorosulphonic acid medium in the presence of iodine as a halogen carrier. Some compounds are brominated and oxidised, the others are brominated only with brominolysis of the groups present, e.g. -CHO, -COOH, -NO2 and -CN groups. |
