基于EVMS的SAN存储虚拟化模型

本文介绍上海交通大学金桥网络工程中心在开发存储局域网(SAN，Storage Area Network)，引入企业卷管理系统(EVMS，Enterprise Volume Management System)实现SAN系统中各个存储子系统组织管理和提供统一的存储管理视图的模型。主要介绍了EVMS的体系结构，然后阐述了SAN存储虚拟化的几种实现，最后提出了EVMS在SAN系统中实现虚拟存储的可行性和应用模型。

A EVMS-BASED SAN VIRTUALIZATION IMPLEMENTATION MODEL

The Enterprise Volume Management System(EVMS) brings a new model of volume management idea to linux system.It integrates all aspects of volume management into a single cohesive package by introducing a new pluggable architecture,enhancing extendability while ensuring consistency and cooperation across volume management schemes. EVMS provides Storage Area Network a practicable scheme for virtualization by creating an abstraction layer between SAN and the application server and enabling servers in the SAN to view physical storage as a common pool of capacity.EVMS also provide a easily extendable architecture for SAN to add more storage devices and resize different filesystems on a single virtual platform.
