Abstract:In harsh service environments,the corrosion of steel bar is the main problem of concrete structures. As a new kind of material,fiber reinforced polymer( FRP) bars are suitable for replacing ordinary steel bars to effectively improve the durability of concrete structures due to their characteristics of light weight,high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Based on the research work carried out at home and abroad in recent years,the basic mechanical properties and durability of FRP bars,the interface bond property between FRP bars and concrete,the mechanical performance of concrete beams,columns and slabs,etc.,reinforced with FRP bars and the application of FRP bars in practical engineering were systematically reviewed and summarized. It is considered that FRP bars can effectively strengthen the concrete structure and have a wide application prospect in the engineering construction. However,there are still some deficiencies in the research of service performance,durability and design method of the components,and relevant problems that needed to be further studied were proposed.
