Synthesis, structure, and electrical and acoustic properties of Cs2Cd2(MoO4)3

Abstract:
We have studied the physicochemical and physical properties of a langbeinite-structure cesium cadmium molybdate (sp. gr. P213, Z = 4, a = 11.239(1) ?). It has very low thermal expansion and possesses piezoelectric properties. We have constructed the section of the longitudinal piezoelectric surface for Cs2Cd2(MoO4)3 by a plane containing a threefold axis (body diagonal), along which the piezoelectric modulus has the highest value: 5.8 × 10−12 C/N.
