Abstract: | The principal theories of adherence are reviewed, and a new theory involving hydrogen gas is discussed. A review of the literature and experimental data show that hydrogen is a factor in the adherence of sheet-steel enamels and that adherence, reboiling, and fish scaling are closely related. |
