Abstract: | An oil lubricated conical bearing is analysed taking into account the dependence of viscosity on temperature. The bearing surfaces are maintained at constant but arbitrary temperatures. When the temperature of the rotating part is continuously decreased from an arbitrary value higher than the temperature of the stationary part to some arbitrary value lower than the temperature of that part, the load capacity monotonically increases. |
