Abstract:A smart power system dynamic monitoring platform based on a virtual central database is proposed in this paper.It can realize platform uniform and data exchange between different application systems.There is no need to store and exchange large amount of data.In order to improve the real-time storage and management capacity for huge amount of WAMS data with high sampling rate,the system preprocesses the WAMS data according to the measurement data characteristics,and then the data is compressed by lossless compress algorithm.Many applications for power system dynamic monitoring and analysis have been realized,which includes low frequency oscillation monitoring,voltage stability monitoring,parameter identifications,and operation performance assessment for generators.The virtual central database can obtain the data from other monitoring and analysis systems,such as EMS and dynamic safety analysis system.And the analyzed results can be shared with the monitoring and analysis systems.
