| Abstract: | The chitosan（CTS） was modified using 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl-3-methyl-ammonium chloride（CTA） and the 2-hydroxypropyl-3-methyl-chitosan quaternary ammonium salt（CTA-CTS） was prepared.The chitosan quaternary ammonium salt was combined with the poly aluminum trichloride（PAC） to flocculate the kaolin-containing suspension.The effect of mass ratio of the PAC to CTA-CTS,the setting time and the pH on the flocculation was studied.The optimum conditions are that the content of CTA-CTS is 2mg/L,The mass ratio of the PAC to CTA-CTS is 13,the setting time is 22min,pH is 6.Under these conditions,the turbidity value of the kaolin-containing may drop to 1.0. |
