Furnace tubes coking is the major factor which affects the long period operation of delayed coking unit. The causes of the furnace pipe coking are analyzed including raw material properties, temperature of furnace wall, flow state of raw materials in the furnace pipe, coke powder carry, the condition of fire burning and pre-mixture of raw material, etc. Some measures such as improving the properties and flow state of raw materials, controlling temperature of furnace wall, avoiding coke powder carry and maintaining nor- mal combustion are adopted, and purpose of safety and long period operation of furnace pipe is achieved.
