The use of NONSAP to compare the Von Mises and a modified Von Mises yield criteria |

| Abstract: | The NONSAP finite element code was modified to include a modified Von Mises yield criterion. The program was then used to study the differences which exist between a Von Mises and a modified von Mises yield criterion for problems of elastic-plastic deformation. The particular examples used to study this variation were that of a circular hole in a plate under uniaxial tension, a pressurized hemispherical head, and a pressurized open ended cylinder. The results of the finite element analyses are compared to previously published experimental studies. |
