Optimized layout of concrete construction equipment at right bank of Danjiangkou Dam in Danjiangkou heightening works

Danjiangkou heightening works is to heighten the dam crest from the original elevation of 138m to 152m according to the construction plan. Due to the restriction of flood control requirements, the construction could only be conducted in low-flow period and would not interfere the hoist operation on the dam crest, so the layout of large-scaled construction machines was extremely important. The optimized process of vertical transportation equipment for the concrete construction, namely the slope-pavement and heightening project, is described in detail. Through reasonable collocation of portal crane, tower crane and crawler crane, the concrete pouring and construction schedule are fulfilled. 
