Abstract: | Presents alternative conclusions for meta-analyses by D. W. Johnson et al (see record 1981-05387-001) that emphasize interactions between reward systems and situational variables. It is proposed that the effectiveness of a particular reward system in stimulating productivity and achievement will depend on situational variables; no single reward system will always be better than another. The vulnerabilities of meta-analyses are discussed. (21 ref) (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved) |
