| Abstract: | Based on the basic theory of general helical s urfaces, it is shown that the uniform meshing clearance is reasonable for involu te helical surfaces while it is unreasonable and should be abandoned for helical surfaces with complex transverse tooth profile such as those applied to the twi n screw compressors. |
