ALUMINUM BRIDGE——THE RADIANT NOVA OF BRIDGE ENGINEERING

Because of the attributes of light-weight, well-durability, easy-maintaining and easy processing, aluminum alloy as a high-performance material is applied in civil engineering more and more widely. Especially the application in bridge engineering has drawn increasing interest and attention. Not only has the aluminum been applied in civil bridges, but also has been showed notable superiority in military as well. Having analyzed and summarized the designs and results of the research on mechanical performance of aluminum bridges, it is introduced the property and structural performance of the aluminum alloy and the application in civil bridges. According to many designs and construction experiences in overseas military aluminum bridges, it is also introduced the prospective of using aluminum alloy in the military bridge in detail.
