Abstract: | A theoretical model and software have been developed for predicting the shrinkage of compacts from metal powders both at the stage of cold pressing, and in the process of their intensive electric sintering. The model of the shrinkage has been supplemented with equations of heat transfer in electrical heating and has been formulated as the initial boundary value problem that allows for special features of the real technological process. The input parameters of the model are compression pressure and the current strength as well as electrophysical and mechanical properties of the compressed material. The parametric numerical analysis of the model and its comparison with the experimental data has been made. Based on the results of the study, a simplified model has been proposed that makes possible engineering calculations and the optimal choice of technological parameters of the electric sintering. |
