Abstract:The polymericα-olefin based ferrofluids sealed in two glass tubes were placed in external magnetic field, the transient hot-wire(THW) instrument was developed for accurate measurements of the thermal conductivity of magnetic fluids in uniform magnetic field,the test found that the thermal conductivity of ferrofluids in the uniform magnetic field increases with the magnetic field strength.The real-time and on-line temperature measuring system based on constant pressure method was developed to evaluate the temperature-rise effect of gas and ferrofluids on loudspeaker voice coil in the same condition,ferrofluids can significantly reduce the temperature rise of loudspeaker voice coil.Therefore,the poly-α-olefin based ferrofluid cools off the loudspeaker voice coil better than gas.
