固话运营商需要3G吗?

Fixed Telephone Operators Need 3G﹖

From the viewpoint of fixed telephone operator, whether it is necessary for them to invest in 3G is discussed in the paper. The feasibility for them to construct a 3G network is considered in several aspects, such as available 3G standards to be selected from, the ability to finance, the capability to compete in mobile telecommunication and so on. Both TD-SCDMA and WCDMA have some technical drawbacks which are difficult to overcome, so they are not suitable to be deployed in a 3G network. CDMA2000 1x has already been adopted by China Unicom. In fact, if the fixed telephone operators try to optimize their PAS network and take advantage of various kinds of networks, they can also achieve continuous development.
